OSTRICH WALK (SELF-GUIDED option):

Take a stroll beside the largest birds in the world! The ostrich walk is self-guided. It is available everyday that we are open. No booking required! The posted signs along the walk will educate you about our ranch and these incredible birds. Feed an ostrich and stand on an ostrich egg during your walk. The walk is $5.00+tax per person. A bucket of feed is an additional $2.00+tax. 

We accept cash, credit, debit. 

The ostrich walk is seasonal. The ostrich walks run Mar.30th, 2024 until just after Thanksgiving weekend.

Spring/Summer hours:

Thursday - Monday 11am-5pm

Closed Tuesday and Wednesday

Fall/Winter hours:

Monday 11am - 5pm

Saturday 11am - 3pm

We accept large groups without bookings. There is lots of field area to park if regular parking is full.

We accept busses. Buses have room to turn around in parking area. 

 

CLASS TRIPS:

Yes we do class trips! 

Length: 1-2 hours. 

Our school trip includes:

• Explanation of incubation, hatching and our brooder room. 

• Depending on the time of year and day they can also watch a live hatching of an ostrich chick.

• Students will have the opportunity to touch an egg, ostrich leather and ostrich feathers. 

• Students will be able to get close to our 2 week-3 month old ostrich.

• Students will learn why we have an ostrich ranch and the benefits of ostrich farming. 

• Students will have the opportunity to take turns reading our many signs along the ‘ostrich walk’ that explain the birds and the ranch.

• Everyone will be given a bucket of feed to feed the ostriches

• Students will have the opportunity to stand on an ostrich egg!

This school trip includes many topics such as farming, animal behavior, nutrition, business, careers, climate, biology, environmental impacts, geography, etc. The tour will adjust based on the age and reason for the school trip. It is therefore age appropriate for either grade-school or high-school students.

There is no food available. A washroom facility is available.

The cost per student is $8.00+tax (minimum of 20 students)

Parent/volunteers are also $8.00+tax.

Educators are free.

PRIVATE TOUR or BUSINESS TEAM BUILDING GROUP:

We also provide private tours for groups.

Length: 1-2 hours.
